Hennessy X NBA

Duration: Over 6 months

This project for Hennessy V.S.O.P. in collaboration with NBA lasted across two phases. The first phase included a multiplayer game with online scoreboard and prize pool. Its second phase consists of a marketing campaign showcasing cocktails inspired by NBA teams and a local refurbished Hennessy themed basketball court.

The overall design was largely kept consistent with the branding guidelines of the Hennessy and NBA collaboration. The visual design drew heavy inspiration to elements of street basketball and graffiti. To imitate the look and feel of graffiti, each button was designed with custom hand-written looking font.


Overview

I established the art direction by designing a high-contrast, dark-ambient environment that captures a street basketball aesthetic. The UI utilizes custom graffiti typography, spray-paint textures, and a thematic NBA color palette, featuring interactive components like hover-state illuminated buttons. My role spanned the full design lifecycle, from wireframing the registration and social sharing flows to crafting the complete gameplay UI, including synchronized animations for loading states and real-time interactions.

To ensure a seamless user experience, I conducted targeted usability testing on lobby creation, invitation flows, and core gameplay performance. This process focused on optimizing animation fluidity, minimizing latency, and validating the real-time ranking system to maintain high user engagement and functional reliability.
